Kotzebue, Alaska
Located 34 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Kotzebue is a western hub village with a population of around 4,000 residents, primarily of Inupiaq Native Alaskans. Kotzebue serves as a hub for the surrounding villages where people can travel to and from by boat during the summer, snow machine or dog sled during the winter or by bush plane year-round. Every year, the Western Arctic Caribou Herd migrate across the ice of the Kotzebue Sound, roaming the snow-covered tundra in search of lichen, dried sedges and small shrubs.
In this album, viewers will see my earlier images from a couple years after I purchased my first camera.
